The Strategic Marketing & Digital Technologies Disciplinary Area at the UoA Business School hosts a panel discussion, "AI in Education: Running the Future or Ruining the Fundamentals?". The event aims to initiate a crucial conversation among educators, students, and industry professionals regarding the impact of artificial intelligence on education and the workforce.

The event will also present two industry showcases by BrandIQ and ElementX, offering a window into the cutting-edge applications of AI in both the marketing and educational spheres. "This event is a call to action," says Inna Piven, a digital marketing lecturer and one of the event organisers. "It's time to explore how AI impacts the future and enriches the principles of learning and work.”

Meet the keynote speakers and panelists

The event will feature two distinct sessions. The first panel, led by keynote speaker Professor Dr Angela Paladino from the University of Melbourne, will delve into the transformative effects of AI on teaching and learning. The panel will include Dr. Nina Brosius, Jamie Denton, Javier Yebenes, Sophia Cao, and Kat Waters, who will offer diverse perspectives on AI's role in education.

The second panel, with keynote Libby Lavrova from IBM New Zealand, will shift focus to AI's impact on the job market and the nature of work. Panelists Patrick Dodd, Steve Ballantyne, Sobia Mughal, and Kat Waters will discuss the anticipated shifts in the job market due to AI, the evolution of skillsets, and the importance of university-industry partnerships.
